Roll Those Trucks...1st Annual!
August 29, 2009; at 12:00, 23 truck and trailers, with an RCMP escort, CJCW's event cruiser, and a JADAL Security patrol car rolled out of Wheeler Blvd, 4 Corners, onto highway #1, west to exit 192 into Sussex, through town blowing horns and using Jake brakes. Gathering at the 8th Hussars parking lot around the Princess Louise Building, where we enjoyed a barbecue. Awards were given out for Best Decorated Truck - Kenneth Goddard; Nosiest Truck - Sussex Home Hardware; Largest Pledge - Raymond Murphy Trucking; 2nd Largest pledge - McConchie Trucking.
Each truck paid a $50 entry. A 50/50 draw was held; tickets were sold on a Stiletto 2, Portable Radio, donated by McGibbon Diesel and won by Reg Sears, St. John. A Barbecue was completely donated. $2,400.00 was raised for the Children's Wish Foundation.
